Features reproductions of 13 engravings by various artists after paintings by Wheatley. The engravings, published in London by Colnaghi, are dated July 2, 1793-May 1, 1797.
Each of these reproductions is accompanied by a leaf of descriptive letterpress and by the musical arrangement of a street cry for voice and piano.
The illustrations also include Wheatley's self-portrait, his portrait of Mrs. Wheatley as Winter (engr. by Bartolozzi), and a variant engraving of Hot spiced gingerbread, smoking hot.
