Cruel, impudique, précis et poignant, élégant et indiscret, ce roman proche du journal intime, a pour sujet central le SIDA (la progression de la maladie). La critique en a souligné l'intérêt littéraire. L'oeuvre comporte un nombre important d'indiscrétions à propos du philosophe Michel Foucault (mort du SIDA), de la comédienne Isabelle Adjani. Selon J.-F. Josselin, il s'agirait d'un chef d'oeuvre. A notre sens, c'est beaucoup dire. SDM
