Gold ores containing high amounts of copper may be difficult to process. Laboratory research of cyanidation, floatation, leaching and combination procedures were analyzed. The samples used were from Punitaqui, Chile. However, these procedures were not cost effective. Therefore, a cyanide regeneration and copper extraction process was developed. This was discussed, including pilot-scale and regeneration experiments, conclusions, effects on the environment and suggestions for future work.
