MASS copy: Bound in half dark green morocco and dark brown morocco-grain cloth, blocked in gold. Volume I/II contains inscription dated 1884. Volume III/IV contains five pieces of original correspondence pertaining to possible publication and ultimate cancellation of Volume IV (after three parts were issued), affixed or tipped in at end of Volume III; with bookplates for: "Thomas Wyatt Bagshawe" and "Ruari McLean". Vols. I-III each have 27 plates; vol. IV has 8 plates (plate for Scaly-breasted Lorikeet is wanting, and there are three additional plates without text for: Stanley's Parrakeet, African or Rose-Ringed Parrakeet and Horned Parakeet.
