Edition Notes

The letter A on some of the woodcuts has occasioned different conjectures. It may even refer to the draughtsman of the cuts or to Alciati himself. Cf. Green; LC.

The woodcuts (except those with signature A) belong to Virgil Solis. Cf. Green.

RBSC copy 1: Pages 95-96 wanting. Slightly worm-eaten affecting text.

RBSC copy 2: Pages 681-682 wanting.
