Most wood-engraved illustrations within the text are unsigned. One is with signature: "W. Mc." and another is signed "Mc.". Wood-engraved t.p. vignette is with signature: "Dalziel".

MASS copy 1: In original sewn printed paper wrappers. Upper wrapper printed in red and black with titling and elaborate wood-engraved illustrated border showing two children reading. Border design includes series title: "Aunt Mavor's Little Library" and imprint: "London: Routledge, Warnes & Routledge.". Lower wrapper printed in black with publisher's advertisement listing titles in "Aunt Mavor's Little Library", the list including "11. History of Five LIttle Pigs. Illustrated by M'Connell.". Advertisement includes imprint: "London: Routledge, Warne, and Routledge, Farringdon Street.". Lower wrapper with imprint: "Edmund Evans, Engraver and Printer, Raquet Court, Fleet Street.". With ownership inscription dated 1863: "Frances Caroline Hall.".
