"Those chosen for this sequence of settings date probably from the twelfth century, and are written in the 16-letter script peculiar to Orkney, except for the occasional 'tree runes' ... there are 24 inscriptions, of which I have chosen to set no. 5 ... no. 8, nos. 19 and 20, and no. 15" ; romanized words also printed as text with English translation and the original script : p.
