Kaum ein Experte hat sich so eingehend mit dem Terrorismus beschäftigt wie Peter Waldmann. Er stützt sich in seinem Buch auf seine Kenntnisse der verschiedensten Gruppierungen. Waldmann erstellt Täterprofile, analysiert Motive und Hintergründe und kommt zu dem Schluss, dass es den Terroristen, auch nach dem Tod von Osama bin Laden, nicht um Zerstörung an sich geht, sondern um die Kampfansage. »Terrorismus, das gilt es festzuhalten, ist primär eine Kommunikationsstrategie.«
