Edition Notes
English translation of the introduction, issued separately.
The Guelph treasure passed from the cathedral of St. Blasius into the hands of Duke John Frederick of Hanover in 1671, and remained in the Court chapel at Hanover until 1803. Since then, frequent removals of the relics to other places have been made, and they are now (1930) to be offered for sale.
