In fact a collection of Persian works edited or translated by Gladwin.

Part 1 contains a Persian grammar and Saʻd'̄ıs Pand-nāmah, with Gladwin's English translation.

Part 2 contains extracts from various Persian works.

Part 3 contains Persian phrases and dialogues "written by a Moonshee employed by the late William Chambers, Esqr".

Part 4 contains ch.5-7 of St. Matthew's Gospel translated into Persian by William Chambers.

The section entitled 'Forms of address, etc.' bears the imprint: Calcutta: from the press of Thomson and Ferris, 1795.

Printed in red and black.

The pagination is irregular throughout.
