Attributed by Wing to Abraham Woodhead (who wrote under the pseudonym of R.H.) and, erroneously, to Obadiah Walker. Cf. NUC pre-1956 imprints.

This item appears, attributed to Woodhead, as Wing no. W3453 Variant (1113:1), and erroneously attributed to Walker, under the title "The guide in controversies", as Wing no. W398 (1433:5). Despite the title variation in the Walker-attributed version, the copies have identical title pages. The number W398 has been cancelled in the revised ed. of the Wing bibliography.

Place of publication suggested by Wing.

"Explications concerning the resolution of faith" (p. [417]-448) has special t.p., dated 1674.

Copy at reel 1113:1 has manuscript notes on prelim. flyleaf.

"Errata": p. [30].

Imperfect: both copies have print show-through with slight loss of print.

Reproduction of originals in the Huntington Library and the Bodleian Library.

Includes bibliographical references.
