The PDF edition of the works has used Harold's research, with additional information derived from the sale of his superior collection in the Stack's of New York auction in their January, 2003 Americana auction. Additional information was added as the website for his collection has attracted the interest of contributors.

Work Description

J. Harold Cobb was the primary collector of inaugural buttons that commemorated the George Washington's first inauguration. These were simple buttons with a variety of designs, which were generally limited to men of means. Their rarity and historical significance has made them the Holy Grail for button collectors, Political memorabilia, and collectors. The original edition was dated 1964, but after Harold's death, a friend provided another edition at 1969. The final edition is provided by the husband of Harold's granddaughter, after the successful sale of Harold's significant collection of buttons. The final edition is provided as a free PDF file at http://moscow2.pld.com/kirk/CobbGW/GWIBM.pdf
