Edition Notes

Typescript.
The Fama fraternitatis is possibly by Johann Valentin Andreä. The Confessio fraternitatis, usually found published with it, may also be his. The 3rd item is a translation (from a German intermediate) of centuria prima, ragguaglio LXXVII (Generale riforma dell'universo dai sette savi della Grecia e da altri letterati pubblicata di ordine di Apollo) of Traiano Boccalini's De' ragguagli di Parnaso.
Translated from the 1615 ed. containing the same 3 works (Gedruckt zu Franckfurt am Mayn : Durch Johann Bringern in Verlegung Johann Berners). The title of that ed. is used as half title to the typescript: Fama fraternitatis, oder, Entdeckung der Bruderschafft des loeblichen Ordens des[s] Rosen Creutzes.
Translator's presentation inscription to Charles Levi Woodbury on half title.
Gift of Blair House, Mar. 31, 1989.

Other Titles
Confessio fraternitatis. English. 1873., Fama fraternitatis., Discovery of the Brotherhood of the Praiseworthy Order of the Rosycrusian.
