Publication began in parts in the new series of the "Genealogist" with the introduction and part of A in 1884 and continued to the end of C in 1889. Vol. 3-8 of the "Complete Peerage" were published by George Bell & Sons, London, and Pollard & Co., who reissued Vol. 2, 1889 (Vol. 1 has a titlepage with the imprint: London, George Bell & Sons, 1887, as well as the original title: A new peerage, edited by G. E. C.).
