Edition Notes
LIBRARY HAS: v. 1-2.
Brisson (1723-1806) was professor of physics in the College de Navarre, the Ecole Centrales, and the Lycee Bonaparte, Paris. "He compiled a table of specific gravities, with a history of the subject. It is to such works that we must still turn for information on the specific gravities of turnips, maize, or treacle. Brisson, although a physist, also tried his hand on two chemical books. He collaborated with Macquer, Cadet, Baume, and Lavoisier in experiments on the combustibility of diamong (1774)."
