Edition Notes

An edition of the first three volumes, edited by Girolamo Francini, was published in 1590.
The decisions in vols. 1, 2 and 4 are numbered within each volume; those in v. 1-2 date from ca. 1565 to ca. 1585 (grouped under each auditor's name); those in v. 4, mostly from 1572 to 1610, with Prospero Farinacci named as the original collector (prelim. p. [9]), in unclear arrangement. In v. 3, a new sequence starts with a section of decisions by Fabio Accoramboni, dated 1550-1559, followed by sections given to decisions by Gabriele Paleotti (dates 1556-1562), Giovanni Paolo Tolomei (Tholomaeus; dates 1535-1547), Antonio Agustín (of 1545-1561), and Thomas de Thanis (mostly undated or questionably 1532, 1539; was auditor 1540-1546).
Title pages in red and black.
Vol. 3 has colophon: Venetijs : Apud Bartholomaeum Rodellam, Damiani Zenarij haeredem ..., 1618. Device of Damiano Zenaro on t.p. of v. 1-2 (crowned salamander in fire, in frame flanked by motto "Virtuti sic cedit invidia," Zappella 1015).
Vol. 4 has imprint: Venetijs : Apud Andream Baba, 1618. Device on t.p.: in richly framed oval window, seated human figure (Peace?) with torch, double-axe, and olive branch; motto: Omnem sensum exuperat.
