This journal of Quaker minister William Williams (1763-1824) was an early Cincinnati publication. Williams was born in North Carolina and settled in Tennessee about 1790. He went on a preaching tour in 1804 in George, South Carolina and North Carolina and settled in Blount County, Ohio in 1808. Finally he settled in White Water Valley, IN in 1814. This volume is valuable as an early record of his spiritual quest, and for its description of the American frontier at the beginning of the 19th century.
