Larry Cable (b. 1942) was an American military historian specializing in the Vietnam War and counterinsurgency. He received his undergraduate education at Shimer College, a small and radical Great Books college, later obtaining an MA from Western Michigan University in 1981, and a Ph.D. from the University of Houston in 1984. From 1987 to 1998, he taught at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. His books include Conflict of Myths (1986) and Unholy Grail (1991). (from Shimer College Wiki)
