Helen Aiyeohusa OVBIAGELE is an author of six books in the MACMILLAN GREAT BRITAIN PACESETTERS SERIES. She writes romance fiction to promote women and young people’s empowerment, and also ethics and morals in an African setting.
She studied French/English at the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and Translation and Bilingual studies at the Lycee Francais du Royaume-Uni in South Kensington, London.
After teaching at some schools in Lagos, she worked for PEUGEOT AUTOMOBILE NIGERIA LIMITED, Lagos, and then joined the VANGUARD NEWSPAPERS, Lagos, in 1984, as the pioneer Head of Woman’s desk. In this capacity she participated in the Beijing plus Five world women’s conference in New York in 2001, and attended seminars, workshops on women’s issues in Egypt, Ethiopia, Tanzania and in several parts of Nigeria.
She retired from this position after twenty-nine years, and has taken up writing fiction again.
She lives with her family in Lagos, Nigeria.
