Kevin Behan was born into a world of working dogs, dogs who earned their keep in protection, law enforcement, and hunting. Since training his first dog at ten, he has worked the full spectrum of extreme behaviour problems and extreme circumstances. Through it all, however, he sought the missing piece - the heart and soul. None of the theories and techniques he learned led to 100% heart in 100% dogs.
Kevin's other passion, the world of nature, honed his ability to observe subtle forms of behavior. As he spent countless hours watching and listening, he realized that it is the wild nature of the dog that lets him bond with us, not his submission. In nature the joining of total energy is what allows animals to cooperate and thrive. And this is what traditional and progressive theories of training were missing. Forcing a dog to repress his natural energy leaves him blocked and unable to cooperate consistently. Releasing and channeling his energy leaves him open to us on all levels and in all situations.
