Yeonmi Park was born in North Korea in 1993. Having survived severe oppression, she defected from North Korea 2007, living in China and later in South Korea in 2009. She briefly described her experience during her speech at One Young World 2014 Summit. The book In Order to Live: A North Korean Girl's Journey to Freedom is a fuller autobiographical account of her experience.
