Jerome A. Kristian (1934-1996) was an observational and theoretical cosmologist who worked at the Mount Wilson Observatory for most of his career. He received his bachelor's degree from Shimer College, where he enrolled as an early entrant. He received his Ph.D. at the University of Chicago under the supervision of Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar. He is best remembered for being the first to provide observational evidence of quasar host galaxies. (from Shimer College Wiki)
