Nigurananda was born on 15th November, 1935. His formal name is Sachidananda Sarkar. By profession he was a professor of history with a very strong depth in science and spiritual yoga.
Initially he started his career as an author by writing historical novels mainly. After meeting the 'Mahabatar Babaji Maharaj' of Himalaya and receiving 'Shaktipat Diksha' from him, Nigurananda had been writing books on spirituality. His first spiritual book was 'Mrityu ood Paraloka' followed by another book on yoga 'Dibyajagat oo Daibivhasa'. After that he had written more than a dozen of spiritual books.
The themes of his writing and research are yoga, spirituality, spirituality and rituals of all popular religions, scientific manifestation of spirituality, deities, extra sensory perception, paranormal phenomena, serpent power inside human being, astral travel and astral vision. All his writings reflect a perfect blending of history, science and his own spiritual experiences. He had always been advocating laboratory based scientific explorations on yoga and biofield energies.
Thousands of people had learnt the 'transcendental meditation technique' from Nigurananda to achieve the self-existence in high spiritual planes.
The great Yogi has left his physical body on 10th August, 2013.
