Teófilo Braga (né Joaquim Fernandes Braga) was a Portuguese writer, playwright, politician and the leader of the Republican Provisional Government after the overthrow of King Manuel II, as well as the second elected president of the First Portuguese Republic
Teófilo Braga foi um poeta, filólogo, sociólogo, político, filósofo e ensaísta português. Da sua carreira literária contam-se obras de história literária, etnografia (com especial destaque para as suas recolhas de contos e canções tradicionais), poesia, ficção e filosofia, tendo sido ele o introdutor do Positivismo em Portugal. Depois de ter presidido ao Governo Provisório da República Portuguesa, a sua carreira política terminou após exercer fugazmente o cargo de Presidente da República.
