Yaqub Nizami

Yaqub Nizami (Urdu: یعقوب نظامی born 15 April 1955) is a U.K based Urdu writer who is best known for his book PAKISTAN SAY INGLISTAN TAK پاکستان سے انگلستان تک The book is about the history of Asian immigrants in the UK. He has written 8 travelogues, four Biographies and two history books. In addition he interviewed Asians immigrant in UK and published their stores in the Urdu Newspaper daily Jang London from 2012 to 2016 called Wilayatiya ولایتے.
He was born in Tatapani in the district of Kotali in Azad Kashmir Pakistan (During the migration period of his family). His father Molivi Mohammed Ismail was a well-respected religious leader (Imam امام مسجد ). Soon after his family moved back to their original village Salwah in the district Poonch Tehsal Mendher occupied of Kashmir,India.
He spent his child hood in Salwah and got his primary education from Salwah School. 27th of October 1965 his family migrated again and moved to Mirpur Azad Kashmir Pakistan. He went to the local high School and then Degree College Mirpur. In 1982 he graduated from Punjab University Lahore Pakistan.
11 December 1982 he migrated to the U.K to join his wife Shamim Nizami. He did a diploma in translation from Institute of linguist London. In 1987 he joined Sheffield City Council and served as a Urdu/ Punjabi translator. In 1992 he moved to Manchester City Council and got job as a Deputy Manager translation department. He still works for Manchester City Council.
He has four children۔ Nafeesa, Shamaila, Sadia are daughters and Khurram Nizami his only son. All his children have graduated and his wife Shamim Nizami teaches English at Bradford College. His elder brother Ayub Sabir is Advocate and younger brother Dr Yousaf Tariq is a Dental surgeon.
He started writing in 1990. The well know Urdu writer Mahmood Hashmi who wrote the famous classic book Kashmir udas hay کشمیر اداس ہے was his mentor .
In 2015 his work was recognized by Azad Kashmir University and one of the students Noor al Ain Aslam نور العین اسلم has completed her MA Urdu with a thesis on Yaqub Nizami Life and contribution یعقوب نظامی:حیات و خدمات

In 2020 Fabiha Imanفابیہا ایمان a student of Bahauddin Zakariya Universty Multan has done her MS Urdu critical analysis thesis on Yaqub Nizami book Muser ka Bazar یعقوب نظامی ۔۔۔ مصر کا بازار پر تنقیدی جائزہ
Travelling, reading and writing are his hobbies. He has travelled around most of Europe , Africa , Middle East, Far East and Asia.
He has written:
