P. Kaushik

Dr. P Kaushik, is currently Professor & Dean, Faculty of Life Science, Department of Botany and Microbiology, at Gurukul Kangri University, Hardwar, Uttarakhand. He has professed teaching and research at Panjab University, Chandigarh, and Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. He was named a Visiting Professor to University of Delhi in 2007. He has been the Principal Investigator of Ministery of Environment and Forests, Goverenment of India project "Environmental Biology of the Himalayan Orchids and U.G. C. project on Lectins.
Prof. Kaushik has visited Universities of London, Cambridge, and Kew, United Kingdom; and Indtitute Pasteur, Paris, France. He has published over 100 research papers, authored original research monographs and two text books of Microbiology.
Professor Kaushik is the President of Academy of Plant Sciences of India ( APSI). He has been honoured with 'Vayumandal Ratna' of Rural Technology Development Society, U. P. and Rural Development Technology Education Council, Uttar Pradesh in 1998; APSI Gold Medal of 2002 and Prof. K. S. Bilgrami Award-2007.
He has been a University Syndic from 30 3- 1994 to 31-3-1997, a member of Academic Council of the University from 27-10-1994 to 30-6 1996, and from 2006 onwards.
He has been associated with designing and starting M. Sc. Microbiology courses at Gurukul Kangri University, Hardwar, since very inception of the courses in 1984, and has supervised a large number of Ph. D. students.
Prof. Kaushik chaired a Session and delivered invited lectures in Indian Science Congress association, Jan 3-7, 2006 at Hyderabad, and Jan. 3-7, 2009 at N. E. H. U., Shillong.
