Rev. Samuel R. Johnson built houses and sold vacant lots in Brooklyn from the mid-1820s to the mid-1800s.
The Duffield Street Houses (formerly Johnson Street Houses) are four two-and-one-half story and three-story brick and frame houses erected between circa 1835 and 1847 with aspects of the Greek Revival style, Queen Anne and Second Empire elements. The houses were moved from Johnson Street, Brooklyn, N.Y. two blocks to their present site on Duffield Street in 1990.
