"This edition ... consists of six hundredand fifty copies numbered in arabic numerals on Aries paper and thirty copies numbered in roman numerals and signed by the author on Imperial Japanese paper ... The plates were printed from blocks made by John Swain and son, limited ... London, under the supervision of Leslie Holt. The Aries roman and italic types were designed specially for this book by Eric Gill and the Chinese title and dedication by Professor Ma Hêng ... The 'water-mark' and the end-papers have been designed from the decoration of celestial rams shown in plate XCIX. This copy is number 601."

Bound by W. T. Morrell & co., Ltd., London, in green half morocco, stamped in gold; green cloth covers stamped in light green; top edges gilt; green decorated endpapers. In a protective box.
