Account of the journey of one of the participants in the "Rallye Saharien automobile", organized in connection with the celebration, in 1930, of the centenary of Algeria. The purpose of the expedition was to demonstrate the feasibility of crossing the Sahara by automobile from Algeria to Nigeria. Gao, in the French Sudan, was the southern objective of the journey.
