A collection of 25 engravings by Callot representing beggars (one plate is duplicated), bound with 4 unrelated engravings representing young women all signed by Callot but not attributed to the artist.
Title assigned by Meaume and Lieure. Original plates preserved at the Musée des beaux-arts, Nancy, nos. 406-430.
First plate has caption "Capitano de baroni" and is signed: Iacomo Callot in. et fe.
LC copy has plates bound in Meaume number order as follows: 685, 686, 704, 694, 700, 688, 695, 708, 709, 691, 696, 707, 692, 701, 689, 703, 705, 693, 687, 699, 701 (another copy), 697, 702, 706, 690, 698. Three plates have ms. titles in German added in pencil, 21 plates are identified with Meaume numbers added in pencil on recto or verso, and 6 plates are cut down to the edge and mounted.
