Edition Notes
At head of title: Vincent of Beauvais.
"The publication of this book was made possible by grants of funds to the academy from the Carnegie coporation of New york and the American council of learned societies."
"The present edition is based on three manuscripts and the edition of 1481. Two of these manuscripts are found in the Stats-bibliothek in Munich. The basic manuscript is B. N. Lat. 16930, the oldest, and evidently the most correct manuscript ... Much younger is B. N. Lat. 16606, the third manuscript used is Cod. Monac. Lat. 469 ... The treatise is commonly known as De erudition puerorum regalium; it was prented with this title among the Opuscula of vincent in 1481 by Johannes von Amerbach in Basel."--Introd., p. xxviii-xxix.
