Carl Wilhelm Erich Zimmer

[To be distinguished from modern science writer Carl Zimmer]

Carl Wilhelm Erich Zimmer was a German zoologist specialising in crustaceans, especially the order Cumacea.

The crustacean genus Zimmeriana is named after him.
He is the taxonomic authority for the krill species Euphausia hanseni.
