Munyah Samārah

Monya Samara was always seen as a Palestinian writer and journalist that chose the ridged life of Arabic politics rather than the comfort of her rich aristocrat heritage.

Many of her rich yet short life turns are rather on the unclear starting with both her place and date of birth (thought to be 55- Kuwait City or 50 in Toul Karim- Palestine), such contrivance can be traced though out her travel and revolutionary career.

It’s tough that she had started in Kuwait with the newly established Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) at a very early age, trained with the legendary leaders of the movement and traveled to Iraq ,Syria ,Pakistan , India Lebanon the eastern bloc ,Yeman & Jordan whilst on the job, the travel and tasks related was never clear, what is certain is that she went to university in Iraq ,Pakistan and possibly India.

Besides the presion time in Iraq and the house arrest in Syria, Mrs samara was wanted in Israel for numerous “reasons” and was stripped of her political and constitutional rights in her passport county (Jordan) alongside a greater number of Palestinian oppositionists in the 80’s. This all was crowned by the withdrawal of her travel documents for some time.

The persecution became easier at the wake of the peace treaty in the early 90’s but will continue as a tight ban on governmental participation, recognition and exposure until she dies.
Mrs Samara allied with Mr. Moh. Al Thaher for 20 years in issuing translations and managing the Jerash festival Magazine on many of the international occurrence repetitions.

Her works extend from countless international Arabic article and study publications, translations , interviews and poetry. In total Monya Samara may have published over 14 titles in association or singlehandedly throughout her career.

Mrs Samara was married shortly to Abdul Amir Al Rekaby ( Iraqi Communist) and had one son out of the marriage that was lift to her custody in the settlement.
