Osvaldo Lamborghini

Osvaldo Lamborghini was an Argentine writer of the 1960s and 70s avant-gardes. His work is not easily lumped into traditional generic categories, as it spans and combines elements of poetry, prose fiction, and theatre.

In his childhood he lived in Necochea. The son of an engineer who worked for the government of General Juan Domingo Perón, he grew up aware of the political events in his country. That is why, in his youth, he joined the Peronist Party, where he became a leading figure.

In 1972, he ventured into comic books, publishing the parodic series Marc! with cartoonist Gustavo Trigo, which was highly praised by critics, in the magazine "TOP Maxi Historietas.

In 1973, after the publication of his first text El Fiord, his active participation in this political movement decreased and the writer embarked on a totally different path, which brought him closer, intuitively, to the orthodox sector of Peronism and which ended with his exile to Spain three years later after the coup d'état of 24 March 1976. From this date until 1985 he lived in Barcelona, where he died of a heart attack.
