The book cannot be called a complete memoir, but rather a well-written montage of the eventful first five years (1977 - 1982) of the Left Front government in West Bengal. Former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, in his sharp and intelligent pen, has impersonally portrayed that time, through which a historical phase of Bengal politics can be understood. The Left Front government's triumphant journey began by dealing with the terrible flood outbreak and establishing a new panchayat system in the rural areas. In this context, he has also responded to the slander against the Left Front government. He has presented the relationship of that government with the intellectuals, the industrial policy of the Left Front government, the center-state relations, etc. in a simple way. This book has already gained immense popularity. There are several rare photographs.
