The culture of one of the most fascinating and original group of Koryak people is presented: inhabitants of Verchnii Paren' village. This west group of Koryak people experienced an influence of a set of contact ethnos, which imposed a significant mark on its cultural shape. Speaking about this group, the author accessibly reviews some serious issues of Siberia researches: the origin and standing of Koryak people, genesis of Chukotsky-Koryak herding.
