Sustainable Development Strategies for Transformation of LIS Education & Research

The SDSTLISER-2025 conference, held in celebration of the 41st anniversary of the PG & Research Department of Library and Information Science at Bishop Heber College, brought together experts to discuss the evolving landscape of LIS education and research. In an era of rapid technological advancements and shifting educational paradigms, this conference facilitated critical discussions on sustainable strategies to address contemporary challenges in the field.

The theme of SDSTLISER-2025 is both timely and crucial, as LIS education and research are undergoing rapid transformation in response to emerging
technological advancements, evolving pedagogical methodologies, and the increasing need for sustainable knowledge management. This conference
provides a vital platform for educators, researchers, professionals, and students to engage in meaningful discussions, exchange ideas, and develop strategic solutions to strengthen LIS education and research in the 21st century.

This volume encapsulates a diverse range of scholarly contributions, including research papers, case studies, and theoretical discourses, which delve into
the core areas of the LIS transformation. The sub-themes explored in this conference addressed traditional LIS concepts, new educational strategies,
interdisciplinary approaches, technological innovations, and sustainable practices that are pivotal in shaping the future of LIS education and research.
Through this compendium, we aim to disseminate knowledge that not only enriches academic discourse but also influences policy-making and
professional practices in LIS.
