The miniatures are apparently the work of more than one artist. The introductory treatise includes chapters on the life and work of Simon Marmion (p.25-39) to whom the last ten miniatures (pl. XII-XXI) and the completion of some of the preceding miniatures (pl.VII-XI) are attributed.
Accompanying the facsimile are two series of plates: (1) 6 plates with half-title "Planches documentaires", containing reproductions of miniatures, etc., from other sources, for purposes of comparison. (2) 11 plates illustrating the color printing process ("décomposition des couleurs") as applied in printing facsimile plate no. XVIII.
