The results of the pilot phase of the VATEC project ("Vorislamische Alttuerkische Texte: Elektronisches Corpus" - Pre-Islamic Old Turkic Texts: Electronic Corpus) -- the digitalization of Old Turkic manuscripts stored in the Turfan Collection of the Berlin- Brandeburg Academy.

The VATEC project is carried out at the Frankfurt and Göttingen Universities and at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and financed by the German Research Foundation. The heads of the project are Marcel Erdal, Jost Gippert (Frankfurt), Klaus Roehrborn (Göttingen), Peter Zieme (Berlin). Participants include Irina Nevskaya, Ralf Gehrke (Frankfurt), Michael Knueppel (Goettingen), Jakob Taube (Berlin).
