An abridgment of the first official collection of "the laws of the Indies" which was in the process of being compiled by Rodrigo de Leon Pinelo. It was issued for private use of the Council of the Indies. The full collection was issued as: Recopilacion de leyes de los reynos de las Indias, Madrid, 1681. The full texts of the laws are not given, only the title and issuer and are printed in two parallel columns. This Mexico City edition was reprinted under the supervision of Juan Francisco de Montemayor y Cordova de Cuenca.
