Compilation of events and incidents during the struggle and transition to power in the Dominican Republic from 1962-1963 leading to the election of Juan Bosch as president. Juan Bosch (1909-2001) was one of the fundamental Dominican literary and political figures of the 20thcentury. Bosch was the first democratically elected President in the Dominican Republic after the assassination of former dictator Rafael L. Trujillo was overthrown in a coup in 1963. In 1965 a popular revolution surfaced to demand the return of Bosch to the Presidency.
