The monastery may also be known as Zla-kun-dgaʼ-tshal or simply Kun-dgaʼ-tshal, and is most probably located in Khams Nags-shod, that is, in or near present-day Biru County (Tib. ʼBri-ru) in Nagchu (Tib. Nag-chu ; Chin. Naqu), Tibet Autonomous Region.
