Edition Notes

Of the proposed six parts of Sangmeister's life, only four were published. Each has separate title page ("Dies Folgende ist der erste [zweite] Theil und der Anfang von meiner armen Lebens-Beschreibung ... "; "Folgendes is der vierte Theil von meinem Lebens-Lauf ... "). The first part follows the chronicle of the Ephrata Community and occupies p. [47]-97 of v. 1; parts 2-4 each occupy a separate volume.

The title pages to parts 1-4 are dated 1825, 1825, 1826, and 1827 respectively. Part 2, however, ends with an afterword dated Mar. 9, 1826.

Vol. 1: 96, [4] p.; v. 2: 158, [2] p.; v. 3: 88 p.; v. 4, 72 p.

Bookseller's advertisement, v. 1, p. [99]; continued on p. [3] of cover.
