Text of papal edict appears in parallel colums in both Latin and Spanish under titles: "Damnatio, et prohibitio libri cui titulus: Memoria cattolica da presentarsi à sua santità. Opera postuma Cosmopoli 1780" and " Condenacion, y prohibicion de un libro intulado: Memoria cattolica da presentarsi à sua santità. Opera postuma 1780". It is dated June 13, 1781.
Papal edict, communicated by Felipe Bertrán, the Bishop of Salamanca and inquisitor general, concerning the condemnation of Carlo Borgo's book Memoria cattolica da presentarsi a su santità, opera postuma, printed in Rome, in 1780. The work was a tract addressed to the Pope which argues against the Brief of Suppression of the Society of Jesus by Clement XIV. This first edition was published secretly in Rome by the printer Perego, a laicized Jesuit who was later incarcerated.
