This map is not prepared with the techniques of western cartography.
Hokkaidō is not included on this map.
The names of the author and publisher are not mentioned. A small label pasted to the map, probably prepared by a collector, says the map was printed in the second year of Genroku (1689).
The small rectangles on the map denote the size of the Fief according to the amount of rices it produced 11,000 "shi" of rice, the largest 830,000 "shi" of rice. One "shi" equels approximately 50 kilograms.
