The British Library erroneously dates this work to 1640 while European Americana erroneously dates this work to 1650.
Place of publication given as Madrid by Palau.
Juan de Benavides Bazán was charged with bringing back the royal treasure which was found in Mexico; the fleet was attacked by Dutch pirates in Matanzas Bay, Cuba and Benavides Bazán not only lost the fleet but also the treasure. He was imprisoned for several years in Spain and he was executed in Seville in 1634. Here he narrates the events of the capture of the silver fleet.
