Palau y Dulcet (2nd ed.) 219039
Pérez Gómez, A. Antonio Perez, 49
No collective t.p. Titles transcribed from 8 individual title pages, only the first of which bears edition statement and imprint date.
Pérez Gómez considers this group of works to constitute one bibliographical unit, despite the separate title pages and pagings. The signing of the sections is systematic throughout. (The apparent duplication of signatures as given below is not real: a-d⁴ are signed in italics in distinction to a-t⁴ in roman type; similarly the 2nd and 3rd alphabets beginning with 3A use, respectively, AAa, etc., and AAA, etc., in distinction to the first 3A alphabet using Aaa, etc.).
Perhaps printed in Switzerland. The compositorial practices resemble those found by Sayce to be characteristic of Geneva. Cf. The Library, XXI, 1 (Mar. 1966), p. 1, ff.
The leaf following the group of 154 p. is blank, as are the three pages following the group of 45 p. misnumbered 13 p., as well as the last leaf in the book.
Signatures: [par.]-3[par.]⁴ A-2K⁴ a-d⁴ e², ²a-t⁴ u² 2a-2f⁴ 3A-3H⁴ 3a-3d⁴, ³3A-4A⁴, ⁴3A-3F⁴.
The 7th work has at p. [173] a special t.p. reading: Segundas cartas de Ant. Perez ... para doña Ioanna Coello, su muger, y para algunos de sus hijos.
The aphorisms collected by el Curioso stated to be in the 7th work are instead contained in the 8th work, as its title shows.
