Part of a collection of handmade books, most with cords for hanging (literatura de cordel), published by Ediciones Vigía under the auspices of the Cuban Ministry of Culture.

Text and illustrations reproduced on white paper; several mounted "medical prescriptions" recommend, for example, "Believe in G-d, we must believe." Card-stock cover, with an extension in the shape of a woman, wraps around the book and fastens with brown cloth ties tied around the woman's ankles. Cover appliques include hand-colored paper titles and illustrations; a hammered, black crescent moon; and squares of brown and brown-gingham cloth.
