Attributed to the Christian physician, Abū al-Hasan al-Mukhtār of Bagdad, known as Ibn Butlān, but the botanical geography, which has special reference to Andalusia, indicates that the author was a pharmacologist of Hispanic Moslem origin. cf. Introd., p. xi.
