Full-color facsimile, imitating to the maximum the physical makeup of the original created 1455-1461 for Borso d'Este, Duke of Ferrara.
Title and imprint from colophon printed on final flyleaves of the facsim. volumes.
Title pages of the commentary volumes, a teamwork of several authors, read "La Bibbia di Borso d'Este : commentario al codice"; both printed and copyrighted by F.C. Panini in 1997.
Art-historical studies (by Federica Toniolo) in the commentary volumes identify at least 11 fifteenth-century artists who took part in the Bible's decoration (Taddeo Crivelli and others); ms. text all by the Milanese calligrapher Pietro Paolo Marone.

Vol. 1 of the facsimile contains the historical (except Maccabees) and the sapiental books; v. 2, the prophets, the Maccabees, and the New Testament; included are the traditional prologues (by Jerome and/or others), and, at end of v. 2, the Interpretationes Hebraicorum nominum.
The two facsimile volumes are issued in drop-down boxes 44 x 35.5 cm; commentary volumes in one case.
Edition limited to 750 copies.
